Formula Composition

Chief Herbs

Huang Qi — Astragalus Root (Astragalus membranaceus)

Powerfully tonifies Spleen Qi and Wei Qi. Supports Spleen's function of generating Blood and governing its movement within vessels.

Long Yan Rou — Longan Fruit (Dimocarpus longan)

Nourishes Heart Blood, tonifies Spleen Qi, and calms the Shen. Key herb for Heart-Spleen deficiency with insomnia and palpitations.

Ren Shen — Ginseng (Panax ginseng)

Strongly tonifies Yuan Qi, strengthens the Spleen, calms the Shen, and generates Body Fluids.

Bai Zhu — White Atractylodes (Atractylodes macrocephala)

Strengthens Spleen Qi, dries Dampness, and supports transformation and transportation.

Suan Zao Ren — Ziziphus Seed (Ziziphus jujuba)

Nourishes Heart Blood, calms the Shen, stops sweating. The primary herb for insomnia from Blood deficiency.

Yuan Zhi — Polygala Root (Polygala tenuifolia)

Calms the Shen, quiets the Heart, transforms Phlegm, and opens the orifices. Addresses phlegm obstructing Heart communication.

Mu Xiang — Saussurea Root (Aucklandia lappa)

Moves Qi to prevent the tonifying herbs from causing stagnation and to support Spleen transformation.
