Formula Composition

Chief Herb

Gui Zhi — Cinnamon Twig (Cinnamomum cassia)

Warms and unblocks the channels, invigorates Blood circulation, and disperses Cold from the uterus. Transforms Blood stasis by warming the vessels.

Deputy Herbs

Fu Ling — Poria (Poria cocos)

Drains Dampness, strengthens the Spleen, and calms the Shen. Resolves phlegm-damp that often accompanies Blood stasis in gynecological masses.

Tao Ren — Peach Kernel (Prunus persica)

Strongly breaks up Blood stasis, reduces masses, moistens the Intestines. One of the most powerful Blood stasis-resolving herbs.

Assistant Herbs

Mu Dan Pi — Moutan Cortex (Paeonia suffruticosa)

Clears Heat from Blood stasis, cools Blood, and invigorates Blood. Addresses the heat generated by stagnant Blood.

Chi Shao — Red Peony Root (Paeonia lactiflora)

Invigorates Blood, clears Heat from the Blood, reduces pain and swelling from Blood stasis.
