Chief Herb

Zhu Ru — Bamboo Shavings (Bambusa tuldoides)

Clears Heat, transforms Phlegm, stops vomiting, and calms the Shen. Addresses the Heat component of Phlegm-Heat disturbing the Heart.

Deputy Herbs

Zhi Shi — Immature Bitter Orange (Citrus aurantium)

Breaks up Qi stagnation, resolves Phlegm accumulations, reduces distension and fullness. Addresses the Qi stagnation driving phlegm formation.

Ban Xia — Pinellia Rhizome (Pinellia ternata)

Dries Dampness, transforms Phlegm, descends rebellious Qi, and harmonizes the Stomach.

Assistant Herbs

Chen Pi — Tangerine Peel (Citrus reticulata)

Moves Qi, dries Dampness, transforms Phlegm, and harmonizes the middle burner.
